Hammered Copper Pot With Large Circular Ring

Hammered copper vessel used by tribesmen and local women to carry water, handmade by artisans on the border of Nepal and India. The pot has a large circular ring at the mouth of the pot, traditionally struck by hand with a mallet to create an indentation. The exquisite floral leaf design engraved under the mouth of the jar and the smooth rounded hammer outline of the pot with rich brown patina finish make this jar a collector's item. It can be used as a home art decoration or as a planter for dried flower arrangements.
